Learning about real people can be exciting. When a child reads about someone they admire, they want to read more. They want to read. Are they interested in science? They can read about Albert Einstein or Marie Curie. Do they like baseball? They can read about Ken Griffey Jr. Does the work of Rachel Carson get their attention? Look to biographies to get your child interested in reading. Here is a list of biographies geared toward upper elementary students.
